Description

In railway technologies of secondary testing of individual rail sections, as well as turnout elements, the single-rail flaw detector CHAMELEON 32+ in version 16/64 is used for confirmation or cancellation of incident marks detected by primary mobile inspection systems. The working set includes a specialized single-rail scanner with pre-installed phased array probes, an electronic unit, a couplant tank and a control tablet.

Electronic control of ultrasonic beam input angles and analysis of reflected echoes form a real-time S-scan image, providing visual defect localization and coordinate-based evaluation. CHAMELEON 32+ can direct the beam at different angles and focus at required depths, improving reliability of detection for differently located defects and enabling protocol generation with transfer to the dispatching center via GSM.
